Our March coffee, cake and children’s craft activities morning will take place on Saturday 28th March from 10.00 – 1.00. Come and join us!
THE ELEPHANT MAN
In a Meet the Author event, we have invited Jo Vigor-Mungovin to come to the Library and talk about her work and Joseph Merrick. Jo is a local author and has published a book about Joseph – she has done extensive research and will be bringing copies of the book with her. This will be on Saturday 20th June from 2.00 – 4.00. No charge for entry, refreshments available for purchase.
EMBROIDERERS’ GUILD
To celebrate the Embroiderers’ Guild National Day of Stitch, Leicester embroiders will be coming to the Library on Saturday June 20th, 10.00 – 1.00, to demonstrate their art and invite you to have a go. No charge, refreshments available for purchase.
Easter Quiz
Our Roger & Rosemary Easter paper-based quiz is now available in the Library, £1.00 per copy. Closing date for return is 25th April, with a large Easter egg for the winner.
BEETLE DRIVE
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the Beetle Drive, which had been planned for Saturday 29th February. We did not manage to sell enough tickets – seems that Kirby Muxloe and Beetle Drives are not a good fit! All payments will be returned.
Wriggly Readers Update!
Please go to the Review page for an update on Wrigglies. Your help and feedback will be much appreciated.
New Books
Have a look at our New Books Page.
Christmas books
We know it may be late for this year, but the Library has a stock of specialist Christmas books, covering various topics.
Beginners Bridge
Between 2 and 4pm each Friday there is a “Beginners Bridge” class held in the community room.
This is a U3A club, so incurs a small annual membership fee. For more information contact Tom Wright via the library.
Duke of Edinburgh Students
We’ve had lots of Duke of Edinburgh Awards students in the Library for their volunteering module. This has been very successful, and these students have a good time and often continue to volunteer after they have completed their hours. There are lots of different things to do, so if you need a placement, drop into the Library and let us know. We can take two students at any one time.
