Our Annual Report 2021-2022

Every charity is required by the Charity Commission to submit an annual report. This is public information and anyone can find these on their website. Rather than you having to go there to find our page – which is here if you wish to look – we are also publishing the report here.

You can click this link to open it in your browser, or you can right-click and “Save As” to download it.

The library is funded by you and we want you to be confident that we are doing everything properly, transparently and in the best interests of keeping the library going.

If you have any questions at all, please do get in touch.

We now have a hard copy of the consultation documents in the Library – it’s enormous – two boxes full!  To make life easier for you, we also have a USB stick which includes:

  • Volume 1 – non-technical summary
  • Volume 2 – PEIR
  • Volume 3 – Appendices
  • Volume 4 – Figures
  • Community Explanation Document
  • Design and Access Statement
  • Planning Statement
  • Masterplan
  • Parameters Plan
  • Draft DCO and Explanation Document
  • Draft Rail Report
  • Illustrative Plans
  • Site Location Plan.

If you are interested in responding to the consultation, call in at the Library.

Could you be a New Trustee?

Due to the resignations of two of our Trustees, we now have vacancies for two new Trustees.

We are looking in particular for people who have experience/skills/interest in marketing, advertising and design, a wish to develop the community side of our enterprise (given that we are a community hub) and, of course, an interest in and commitment to the concept of libraries.

Trustees meet monthly to manage the Charity’s business and to set its strategy and direction.  If you feel that you would like to join us, please email Liz Collinson at secretary@kirbymuxloelibrary.org  setting out your interests and experience.  We look forward to hearing from you.

We are a friendly and welcoming bunch of people so please have a think about joining us and contributing to the well-being of our community.  The duties are not onerous!

Christmas Quiz Result

Thank you to all those who took part in our Christmas Quiz.

We received several correct answer sheets and after pulling a name out of the hat the winner is Mrs S. Koch from Coventry. The £10 book token is winging its way to her with our congratulations.

Thank you everyone once again. We hoped you enjoyed the quiz.

There will be another library (paper) quiz later in the year.

If you would like the answers…… they are below

Please save your crisp packets!

Did you know that your empty crisp packets can help others?

NOTE: This scheme is closing down on 1st February.

There is a charity called Adapt and their web site is at prembabies.co.uk

If you can bring ANY crisp packets to the library then Walkers Crisps will collect them, recycle them and also contribute to Adapt for every packet.

Walkers do not mind what brand of crisp packet you bring to us, they accept them all.
Adapt, like any and all charities, need every penny they can get to do their work.

You get to eat the crisps, the packet gets recycled and a family gets helped. Win-win-win.

So please do save those packets and drop them in to the Library. Thank you.

Advance warning – Saturday 27 November

Apologies but we shall not have access to any counter computers on Saturday, as LCC are doing their annual system update.

Books can still be returned and taken out.

If you wish to take books out you must have your Library Card Number with you, as we shall have no access to our helpful Hub. Things should be back to normal for Monday 29th.
